Kill Your Television

There are few things more dangerous to your potential as a writer than television.

1) TV weakens the mind by conditioning it to receive passive entertainment.

2) Little of what's on TV has any artistic or intellectual merit; most of the content is superficial and geared to our culture's lowest common denominator.

3) TV relies heavily on snark for entertainment.

4) Passively consuming low-quality, snarky content saps you of ideas and creativity.

5) 25-35% of television content is advertising designed to encourage you to buy things you don't need.

You're wasting time! Turn off your TV and start writing.
