Protect the World From Your Worst Stuff

Yes, it's important that you write as much as you can, and that you put your writing out there, ideally on your own blog.

But let's qualify this a bit.

Remember, your credibility is at stake whenever your writing appears in the public domain. And according to the 80/20 Rule, a small percentage of your work will be exceptional, far better than your average. That's the work you should definitely publish.

Unfortunately, the 80/20 Rule also indicates that a small percentage of your work sucks. You'll want to identify that work and make sure it never sees the light of day.

Finally, most of your writing will hover around your average level of quality, and you can choose whether to put that material out for public consumption, depending on its absolute quality and the demands placed on you for content.
