Pay a Good Writer a Deserved Compliment

It's a laughably obvious observation to say that that writers suffer.

We suffer because we are self-critical. We suffer when we edit our work. We suffer with every critical comment from readers, reviewers and editors.

So when you see an example of genuinely good writing, or if you read something that is helpful to you, why not pay that writer a compliment? It costs you just a few minutes of attention and a few sincere words. It doesn't matter if the writer is an obscure blogger or a best-selling author. Positive feedback motivates everyone.

A writer's world is a cruel world. Even successful writers, the ones who you'd think would be swimming in positive feedback, rarely get any. Help make the world a little less cruel and tell a writer you enjoyed his or her writing.
