How to Help Your Writing While You're Not Writing

You can't write 24 hours a day. No one can. So what are some other things you can do, right now, to further your writing?

Can you wade through some old articles and improve them by tightening the phrasing and eliminating any typos?

Can you spend some focused time reading inspiring and provocative work from others?

Can you spend time quietly meditating on creativity?

What about taking steps to ensure you're getting enough exercise, or enough sleep? The more rested and fit you are the better your creative work will be.

Yes, I know: these things don't directly further your writing. But yet they do. They're investments in your mind and in your sanity, and they'll pay big dividends down the road--in the form of great work you haven't yet written.
