An entitlement mindset is thinking you deserve something based on no reason at all. And writers with an entitlement mindset are the worst:
I've put in a full year writing my blog... how come nobody's reading me?
When am I finally going to get a book deal?
Do you deserve success as a writer because you pumped out a year's worth of blog posts? Are you entitled to define success in terms of your pageviews or book deals? Do you even get the right to define success at all?
The writers out there who are successful don't care what you think you're entitled to. They don't even care what they are entitled to. They've stopped asking questions like the ones above and are instead working on their writing.
