An Easy Way to Find Inspiration

I've repeatedly discussed the many advantages of using the omit needless words technique in your writing and editing.

This technique can also help you find inspiration.

Are you struggling with an article or blog post where your thoughts just aren't crystallizing? Give it a good working over using this technique. Strip out every single needless word. And then go back once more and strip out all the words that might be needless.

This process clears away all the fluff between you and your best ideas. It helps you get to the fundamental essence of your thinking. Even your most awkward and confused writing contains worthwhile ideas and thoughts--they're just hidden behind all the needless words. Strip them away and your best ideas will be sitting there, right out in the open.

And then you can get started writing again.
