Creating Writing Time From Nothing

There's a story about how the poet William Carlos Williams wrote many of his poems at work, between patients. On prescription pads no less.

And yet so many of us complain about not having enough time to write.

Most of us could easily create an hour or more per day of writing time by cutting out time-wasting media. How much time do you spend on Facebook or other social media sites? How much time do you spend watching TV?

In essence, how much time do you spend consuming other peoples' content rather than creating your own? Is that time well spent?

Ask yourself that question again: Is that time well spent? Answer it honestly, and make a ruthless decision to allocate your time more meaningfully.

You'll get more writing done.
